Gail draws on her love of ancient Egypt to tell the story of Star’s Reflection, a young adult novel. In this story of adventure and love, two present-day students find secrets from 4000 years ago in ancient Egypt. These secrets put the girls in danger.

Mella and the N’anga: An African Tale, a middle grade novel, was shortlisted for awards in both Canada and the US.

STORYTELLER


Gail Nyoka has appeared at storytelling events in Canada, The USA and Britain. Her storytelling encompasses personal and traditional stories.

PLAYWRIGHT


Winner of the Chalmers Canadian Play Award for Mella Mella. Gail was a Nord Fellowship participant at Cleveland Public Theatre. Her plays for young people have been staged in Canada and the USA.
